Our new work for Movies 24 has just broken, so I thought I'd share it with you...shot as they were by acclaimed German photographer Olaf Becker.
If you couldn't already guess, M24 (a sister channel to Hallmark) is a TV station, and until recently the self styled 'home of TV movies'. Our job was to find a more positive way to position the station.
We needed to get away from the slightly apologetic 'not as good as Hollywood' feel, and celebrate what makes the Movies 24 content great, giving (potential) viewers something to feel good about watching: that this is undemanding but entertaining viewing, big on characterisation and narrative, and rich in good, old fashioned raw emotion.
Hence 'Movies That Move You': initially the proposition, but the client liked it so much, they're taking the line everywhere. The ads themselves will appear initially on TV pages in newspapers like the Sun, before heading into women's magazines and on to posters.
And Sparrowhawk Media, who run Movies 24 and Hallmark, have been so pleased with the work, they've already given us a couple of new projects. Which is nice.
